In plain words: PromptAI is an independent AI briefing. We aggregate from named, reputable sources, label every AI-generated summary clearly, always link back to the original, and correct mistakes openly. We don't take payment to feature a story, and we never hide that a summary was written by a model rather than a person.
Who we are & our independence
PromptAI (promptai.in) is a small, independent project covering AI news, research and learning resources. We are not owned by, funded by, or editorially controlled by any AI lab, vendor or investor. Editorial decisions — what we surface, summarise and recommend — are made independently of any commercial relationship. Where a link is an affiliate link or a placement is sponsored, we label it as such; sponsorship never buys favourable coverage or a place in the news feed.
How we source content
Our briefing aggregates from a fixed, public allow-list of reputable sources, including:
- Research: arXiv (cs.AI, cs.LG, cs.CL, cs.CV).
- News & labs: Hacker News, TechCrunch, Ars Technica, OpenAI, Google AI, Hugging Face, Databricks, Cohere and similar.
- Deep dives: The Gradient, Towards Data Science, fast.ai, Distill, LangChain, Interconnects and other explainer publications.
Feeds pass automated quality and relevance filters (spam removal, AI-relevance checks, de-duplication and recency limits) before they appear. We add or remove sources deliberately, not automatically.
How we use AI — and where we don't
We use AI models to summarise and explain source material, never to fabricate facts or invent quotes. Specifically:
- The "Today in 60 seconds" digest and the per-article summaries in the reading view are AI-generated from the source's own text, and are labelled as such on screen.
- "Explain this paper" produces a plain-English explainer from a paper's abstract, clearly marked as AI-generated.
- Every summary sits next to a direct link to the original. The source is always the authority — our summary is a convenience, not a replacement.
AI summaries can miss nuance or occasionally get something wrong. When accuracy matters, read the original.
Our principles
- Attribute everything. Every item names its source and links straight to it.
- Label the machine. AI-written text is always marked as AI-generated.
- No pay-for-placement. Money never buys a spot in the news, research or deep-dive feeds.
- Free and open. The briefing has no paywall, and we welcome every well-behaved crawler.
- Correct in the open. When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so.
Corrections
If you spot an error — a misattributed source, a broken link, or a summary that misrepresents the original — email hello@promptai.in with the story and the issue. We aim to review reports within a few days and will correct or remove content that's wrong.
Tool reviews & recommendations
Tools in our directory are selected on usefulness, not payment. Some outbound tool links may be affiliate links that help fund the project at no cost to you; these never affect whether or how prominently a tool is listed. Access labels (Free / Paid / Free + Paid) reflect our best understanding at the last review date shown in the directory.
Privacy & security
We collect the minimum needed to run a newsletter and optional accounts, use no advertising trackers, and store passwords only as salted PBKDF2 hashes. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
